Geodelta is an active participant in the LiveQuay research project, an initiative of Delft University of Technology within the UrbiQuay program. This program, funded by NWO and the City of Amsterdam, focuses on innovations for urban bridges and quay walls.

Engagement and collaboration

Geodelta demonstrates its commitment to scientific research by making a financial contribution to LiveQuay's research budget. In addition to Geodelta, SkyGeo, the Municipality of The Hague and the Port of Rotterdam are also supporting the project financially. Other major engineering firms such as Arcadis, IV-Infra, Witteveen+Bos and Althen are additionally involved in user meetings.

Purpose of research

The LiveQuay project aims to improve the safety and performance of urban quay walls. An important aspect of this is the development of effective monitoring strategies. The research focuses on combining InSAR measurements with in-situ measurements to create an integrated approach to monitoring quay walls. These in-situ measurements can consist of traditional measurements with tachymeter or level instrument, or, for example, photogrammetric recordings with MODUPS.

Geodelta's contribution to research

Geodelta plays an active role in conducting the research. By sharing our expertise in geodesy and monitoring techniques, we contribute to the development of geodesically sound methods for monitoring quay walls and other urban infrastructure. By participating in the LiveQuay project, Geodelta is not only investing in the future of urban infrastructure, but also in strengthening our own knowledge and capabilities.
