Geodelta provides independent quality control of deformation measurements so that RET can use the data for optimal maintenance planning of engineering structures.

RET: Public transport inside and outside Rotterdam

RET operates a large public transport network that extends far beyond the city limits of Rotterdam. Thanks to the expansion with RandstadRail towards The Hague and the conversion of the Hoekse Lijn into a metro line towards Hoek van Holland, RET offers connections in one of the busiest regions of the Netherlands. The network includes numerous viaducts, bridges and railroad tracks that serve thousands of passengers daily.

Stable civil engineering structures

To ensure the safety and efficiency of its infrastructure, RET regularly performs deformation measurements on civil engineering structures such as viaducts, bridges and track constructions. For the independent quality control of the deformation measurements, RET works together with Geodelta. The measurements are carried out by several engineering firms using total stations and leveling instruments. The collected data is delivered directly to Geodelta for quality control. During verification, Geodelta assesses completeness, measurement design and the least squares adjustment in MOVE3.

Maintenance planning for structures

After approval, the deformation measurements are transferred to the RET. The measured deformations are used by the RET to prepare a maintenance planning for the structures.
