Competence model for surveyors for the purpose of measuring underground infrastructure
Gasunie manages and maintains the infrastructure for large-scale transport and storage of gas in the Netherlands. Accurate and reliable recording of the location of gas pipelines is essential to prevent future excavation damage. This requires that the surveyors working on behalf of Gasunie not only possess the necessary knowledge and skills, but that they also exhibit the right attitude while working.
Together with Gasunie, Geodelta set up a competency model for surveyors working on Gasunie's instructions. Based on this competency model, a qualification scheme was drawn up based on ISO 17024, the international standard for certifying individuals. This scheme was then used as the basis for drafting both a theory and a practical exam. Both were implemented in practice during 2019.
